About the Collaboration:

Local Authority LA emerged from a garage on Point Dume in Malibu in 2014. Founded by Jeff Skene and Alan Sutcliffe, the brand is rooted in the founders' passion for surf, skate, motorcycle, and music culture, combined with a love for vintage clothing.
Growing up in Malibu, Jeff began surfing, skating, riding motocross, and enjoying heavy metal music influences, which mirrored his extreme approach to life, design, and art creation. These activities, combined with a talent for illustration, lead him to opportunities in the action sports and fashion industry.
Alan, originally from the UK, shared similar interests growing up, including BMX and motocross. He landed his first job with HarleyDavidson at the age of 16. He moved to LA in 2003 and worked for Chrome Hearts and Maxfield (the store that ignited his passion for art and fueled his desire to launch his own label).
Together, the pair combined their shared passions to create their first capsule collection. They often visited the Rose Bowl Flea Market, seeking unique pieces to embellish with prints and patches. The line quickly became one of the best-selling products at Maxfield (where their first collection was launched), earning recognition from some of the biggest stars in the world. The LA slash logo t-shirts and hoodies helped catapult the brand, leading to global distribution and the establishment of an e-commerce business. In 2022, the duo debuted a Malibu pop-up shop in collaboration with James Perse. The success of this venture allowed them to establish a permanent location in Malibu, their hometown, conveniently situated across the courtyard from Maxfield, where their journey began
